Surfrider Rincón Chapter vs. Surfrider Puerto Rico

Surfrider Foundation Rincón

Surfrider Foundation Rincon is currently the only chartered chapter in Puerto Rico.  In one form or another it has been in existence since 2001.  By its charter, all members and the Executive Board are volunteers, and all chapter programs and projects are funded primarily with donations from the local community (note: some supplemental funding is provided by CARICOOS and other academic/NGO collaborations for specific research efforts or projects).

Our water quality lab is located at #19 Calle Nueva in Rincon.
We can be reached by mail at:
PO Box 902
Rincon, PR 00677
or by email at surfiderfoundationrincon@gmail.com

Surfrider Foundation Puerto Rico

Surfrider Foundation Puerto Rico is a community organizing and outreach initiative begun in 2020, with offices and facilities located in Isabela.  It is a separate organization form the Rincon chapter, has paid staff and a budget provided by the national Surfrider Foundation.  Of course, there is a lot of overlap with both organizations supporting and participating in each others' activities.  They can be reached via email to Hector Varela at hvarela@surfrider.org.
