Protect Implementation of the Puerto Rico Plastics Ban

The Puerto Rico Senate to vote no on PS1374

In June of 2022, Puerto Rico passed Law 51, prohibiting the use,  sale, and distribution of single-use plastic in commercial places doing business in Puerto Rico, effective June 29, 2024. This was a huge win for protecting our land, beaches, and public health.

However, a new bill (PS 1374) will delay implementation until 2026, denying our environment, tourism, and health, a reprieve from single use plastic pollution.

The Rincon chapter and Surfrider Puerto Rico urge the senate to vote NO on PS1374.
