Removal of abandoned vessels along the coastline

Along the coast of Puerto Rico lie numerous abandoned derelict vessels. As these boats, many of them with makeshift construction, deteriorate, they are releasing fiberglass particles, chemicals like gasoline and motor oil, as well as plastic debris into our local marine ecosystem. 

We are working to create a formal and safe protocol/operating procedure for the removal of vessels immediately after discovery, including the assignment of this responsibility to the proper agency.
